Switch between high or low kingpin load at the push of a button
One of the big advantages of the 100T Range neck is the ability to work with variable kingpin loads. How does this work and what is its advantage?
The front suspension group
The part that goes to the rear suspension group we will not consider now, because this is always divided between the number of axles present there.
The part of the load weight that goes to the front suspension group (X%) is distributed between the kingpin and the number of axles applied.
This is possible because the neck is equipped with neck compensation. Through this compensation, it is possible to make a switch that allows selecting more/less kingpin load.
So what's the big advantage?
Suppose the part of the load weight at the front is not large, this may mean that there is actually too little kingpin load to drive safely (e.g. with bad weather conditions) (heavy combination but little kingpin load). In this situation, the load would then have to be shifted to get more pressure at the front, or extra weight would need to be added at the front. Both of these are often not desirable situations. Now, with the push of a button, the weight distribution can be changed, putting more pressure on the kingpin and thus allowing safe driving.
This switch also makes it possible to easily switch between a three-axle tractor and a four-axle tractor without having to move the load.
In short, this switch gives the transporter more possibilities to achieve optimal weight distribution without having to modify the trailer or load. Broshuis is the only trailer manufacturer to offer this as standard.
