Dear Sir/Madam,
On the morning of the 29th of January, our organisation has been subject to a ransomware attack. The attack has directly been detected by our IT department. An unauthorised third party has forcefully accessed the systems from Broshuis, during which the attackers have encrypted and possibly stolen data.
Directly after the detection, we have taken the necessary measures to isolate the attack and minimize any negative impact. At this moment the nature and extent of the affected data are still unknown.
Together with a specialized external party, we are now investigating the affected data, cause and the effect this has on employees, customers, suppliers and the business operations. We are in contact with the authorities and have notified the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
Safety and transparency are the core values at Broshuis. We understand that the current situation gives a lot of uncertainty and we regret this deeply. We constantly work to maintain and improve our safety, also digitally. We will use this event to learn and further improve ourselves. Naturally, we will keep in close communication with you once new relevant information is available.
