In November, we proudly delivered five new semi low loaders to Mammoet Benelux: three 5-axle pendle axle semi low loaders and two 6-axle semi low loaders. A smart balance between standardisation and customisation ensures that the trailers can be deployed flexibly at any location.
Identical semi low loaders
All vehicles are built to an identical specification, making them fully equivalent from a permitting perspective. This uniform configuration simplifies operations for Mammoet and offers maximum flexibility, regardless of where the trailers are deployed. In addition, immediate deployability of equipment is essential for Mammoet. “Fit for purpose,” as they aptly describe it themselves. For this reason, all semi low loaders are delivered from the factory fully compliant with Mammoet’s stringent safety requirements.
5- and 6-axle semi low loaders
The 5-axle pendle axle semi low loaders comply with the latest Dutch legislation for the transport of crane ballast, including the ballast exemption up to 100 tonnes. Moreover, the trailers are designed to transport crane ballast and boom sections on the low loader without extending, while the combination with Mammoet’s 6×4 tractor units remains within the maximum permitted vehicle length of 16.5 metres.
For the 6-axle semi low loaders, safe and responsible transport was also a key focus. Particular attention was paid to correct securing of the crane ballast, optimal axle load distribution and the correct coupling load. This ensures that the ballast is transported not only efficiently, but above all safely and in full compliance with applicable regulations.
Although all trailers share the same technical foundation, each unit has been fine-tuned to meet the specific requirements of the individual Mammoet locations. This project clearly demonstrates how standardisation and customisation go hand in hand: a uniform, reliable base complemented by solutions tailored to the daily operations of each site.
Partnership
“Collaboration and a solution-driven approach make the difference,” says Harry Boshuis (Transport & Asset Management at Mammoet Benelux). We are proud to support Mammoet not only in the Benelux, but previously also in Denmark, and we greatly value the trust they place in us. We look forward to further cooperation and wish all teams involved many safe kilometres and enjoyable work with these five new semi low loaders.
