A decade of pride
There’s something about Truckstar that sets it apart. It’s not just the impressive trucks and trailers or the iconic location, it’s the people who come together to make it what it is. This year was especially meaningful as we celebrated our 10th Truckstar anniversary. Back in 2015, it all began with just one Broshuis combination on the paddock. This summer, we proudly welcomed 140 combinations from both the Netherlands and abroad.
On Friday afternoon, 25th July, our site in Kampen filled up with combinations and drivers from all over the Netherlands but also from Germany, the UK, and even Romania. With the expert support of NL Exceptioneel, we set off at 6 p.m. in a grand convoy towards our second home in Assen the start of a truly festive weekend.
As always, our big tent on the old Northern Loop became the heart of the event. Saturday kicked off with the Team Challenge, where groups competed for eternal glory (and a tray of beer). That evening, we raised a glass to ten years of Truckstar, followed by the "Best Truck" awards, live music, and a lively barbecue. Later, karaoke brought laughter and revealed some unexpected vocal talents! Sunday wrapped up with the now-traditional "Groggy Bingo", before everyone made their way back home.
We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this festival possible; our volunteers, NL Exceptioneel, our suppliers and partners, and of course, every single participant. It means the world to us. Many of you travel hundreds of miles, take time off work, spend days cleaning and preparing, organise loads, and shift your schedules, all to help create something truly special together. That doesn’t go unnoticed. Whether it was your first or your tenth time with us: it’s your passion, effort and presence that make Truckstar so extraordinary. Thank you!
