lightweight, robust in use, and rich in options
De Quick Transport, based in Stabroek (Belgium), is a young and dynamic company specialised in exceptional transport. Whether it’s too long, too high, too wide or too heavy – De Quick Transport ensures every load arrives safely and on time. Recently, the company expanded its fleet with a fully customised 3-axle self-tracking semi low loader from Broshuis. A robust, lightweight and cleverly engineered trailer that perfectly matches their daily transport challenges.
From quotation to delivery
Every detail of the 3-axle self-tracking semi low loader was carefully considered. During his search, Siggi de Quick (owner of De Quick Transport) requested quotes from several suppliers. That’s how he came into contact with Rogier van der Slik, Sales Representative at Broshuis. “He supported us from start to finish – from measuring the tractor unit to the smallest details and custom-built options,” says Siggi.
This collaborative approach, combined with Broshuis’ proven quality, open communication and service, helped him make the decision. “Broshuis really embraced our story: being able to fully customise the trailer in terms of options and special modifications made it an easy choice.” On 21 March, De Quick collected the trailer in Kampen. “At Broshuis, attention is paid to every detail – something we truly value. The handover was friendly and personal. We received a full explanation and left for Belgium with confidence.”
Strong, lightweight and cleverly designed
echnical specifications were a key factor in the decision-making process. “The low dead weight and extensive options were decisive,” says Siggi. “The low tare weight helps with the standard 44-tonne limit in Belgium, and the trailer is also compliant with the 48-tonne regulation – offering 4 tonnes of extra payload. The robust chassis was a big plus – the trailer doesn’t give in, as we say. By that, we mean the prestressment and solid construction keep the loading floor from bending or warping, even when carrying heavy machinery,” says Siggi.
The trailer is equipped with well-thought-out features that simplify daily operations. “We opted for two stainless steel toolboxes with drawers under the loading floor, so you don’t have to climb onto the gooseneck to access securing materials. The extra lashing rings also come in handy. The integrated winch inside the neck toolbox is protected from water and dust, and the lift axle can be operated from the cab. The WABCO SmartBoard displays real-time axle loads and tyre pressures. Every detail has been considered. We’re very satisfied – and strong advocates of this improved semi.”
Proven in Practice
The trailer is now in full operation and is used for a wide range of exceptional loads, from crawler cranes and bulldozers to folding presses and prefab swimming pools. “So far, the trailer has been 100% reliable,” says Siggi. “We take good care of it and hope it will last for many years to come.” Regular partners also speak highly of the trailer. “They’ve worked with several brands and appreciate the quality and finish that Broshuis delivers. It’s simply a pleasure to work with equipment that’s fully customised to our needs.”
Following this positive experience, De Quick Transport has already placed an order with Broshuis for a double extendable platform trailer. We wish De Quick Transport many safe miles with their semi low loader and look forward to welcoming them back to Kampen.
