For L.A.W. Tol in Piershil (NL), no two working days are the same. From earthmoving equipment to other heavy machinery, everything must arrive safely and efficiently at its destination. That is why the company recently put a new-generation Broshuis 3-axle hydraulically steered semi low loader with hydraulic ramps into operation.
This is already the third Broshuis semi low loader in the L.A.W. Tol fleet. According to owner and planner Leo Tol, that was a deliberate choice: "We are looking for a trailer that can be used every day and that our drivers enjoy working with. Ultimately, the equipment must do what you buy it for: be reliable and make the job easier." For the new-generation semi low loader, the increased payload was also an important factor.
Designed around the driver
In the video, we follow driver Glenn during a transport with the new semi low loader. Ease of use is central throughout. It is a term often used, but only proven in practice. Practical features such as storage compartments for timber blocks and load securing equipment, smart operating functions and extensive lashing possibilities ensure everything is within easy reach. It is precisely these thoughtful details that make everyday work more efficient.
Glenn has worked with Broshuis trailers for many years. Before the arrival of this new-generation semi low loader, he spent years driving another Broshuis trailer. "The first thing I noticed was how logical everything feels. You can tell it has been carefully designed around the way a driver uses it every day." That same attention to detail is evident during load securing. Strategically positioned lashing rings make it easy to secure different types of machinery safely and efficiently.
Manoeuvrable on site
For transport companies regularly working on construction sites and other confined locations, manoeuvrability is just as important as payload.
The hydraulic steering system ensures the trailer follows the tractor unit precisely and makes manoeuvring significantly easier. "You immediately notice the difference hydraulic steering makes on site. Manoeuvring becomes much easier and you remain in control of the combination."
The trailer is equipped with hydraulic ramps operated by remote control, allowing Glenn to carry out loading operations in a particularly safe manner. As he also loads the machinery himself, he appreciates the strength and stability of the chassis. "There comes a point when the machine tips onto the deck. That is when you really notice how strong this trailer is. It does not flinch."
A trusted choice
The fact that this is already the third Broshuis semi low loader in the fleet is no coincidence. "We focus on what a trailer must deliver over many years in practice. Quality, ease of use and reliability are the deciding factors for us," says Leo.
The decision was therefore straightforward. The other Broshuis trailers in the fleet still look excellent and the drivers remain highly satisfied with them. That demonstrates the value of investing in a trailer built for the long term and proven over years of operation. "When purchasing a trailer, people often focus only on the initial price. In reality, service life and downtime are what determine the true cost of ownership. That is exactly why we choose Broshuis."
We would like to thank L.A.W. Tol for their trust and wish Glenn and his colleagues many safe kilometres.
