Strong Collaboration
At Broshuis, we are proud of our partnership with Kesten Transporte GmbH, a specialist in heavy transport. Kesten chose our custom-made trailers due to their robust quality and long lifespan. In this article, we offer a look into the purchase and production process, including a 'How It's Made' video of one of the custom solutions for Kesten Transporte.
Kesten Transporte GmbH, based in Ahrensburg near Hamburg, is a leading company in heavy transport. It specializes in the transport of construction machinery and also focuses on the transport of ship engines and spare parts throughout Europe. With a team of 22 employees, the company offers high-quality solutions for various transport needs.
"We chose Broshuis because of the custom solutions that perfectly fit our needs," says Hendrik Kesten. "Broshuis offers a wide range of heavy transport trailers known for their robust construction and long lifespan. The excellent reputation of Broshuis and the expert advice of Sascha Merhof (Sales Director, Broshuis GmbH) were also crucial for us."
The Purchase Process
The request for a self-tracking 4-axle semi low loader with wheel wells and loading ramps was submitted via the Broshuis configurator. The customer configured the trailer entirely to their wishes, which made the process quick and efficient. “My planner, Silvio, took care of everything,” says Hendrik Kesten. “Thanks to Sascha Merhof’s quick response time, we could schedule the first visit soon. During the consultation, we were increasingly convinced of the trailer’s possibilities and quality. The factory visit in Kampen exceeded our expectations. What Sascha didn’t know at the time was that the customer request required more tonnage, leading to the decision to opt for a larger trailer, specifically a 3+4 dolly low loader combination. In the end, we ordered not only the 3+4 dolly low loader but also the 4-axle s semi low loader with wheel wells, exactly according to our original configuration.”
Kesten chose the robust 4-axle self-tracking semi low loader for its versatility, with wheel wells, crane arm recess, and loading ramps. By extending the trailer, the front wheel well expands, providing space for various loads. With long loading ramps and a width of 2,750 mm, the trailer works efficiently without widening beams. The high load capacity and stable construction, combined with high-quality materials, ensure safe and reliable transport of heavy loads.
The Production Process
We are proud of what we produce in-house at Broshuis – not just the product, but also the way we manufacture our trailers. In the 'How It's Made' video series, we present a behind-the-scenes look at the production of various trailers. In this video, we showcase the complete in-house production process of the self-tracking semi low loader for Kesten Transporte GmbH.
